  • Video Servers

    Advantech’s VEGA-7000 is a highly configurable server that combines best video and IT practices within an optimized density and power consumption, off-the-shelf platform that efficiently scales throughput of UHD encoder and transcoder applications while reducing time-to-market. The VEGA-7000 can fit up to four VEGA PCI Express adapters to perform up to 1-ch 8Kp60, 8-ch 4Kp60 or 16-ch 1080p60 HEVC broadcast encoding in a short depth 1U rack mount form factor.

    Advantech VEGA-6000 Series of fully integrated compact encoder and decoder appliances are versatile and efficient platforms that enable UHD live video contribution in power and space contained scenarios such as outside broadcasting and remote contribution in live events coverage. The family supports the latest HEVC coding format to optimize high resolution video transmission over satellite or mobile networks.

    • VEGA-6301

      The VEGA-6301 application ready appliance is a small, low power video processing platform, cramming professional video acquisition and capture interfaces, optional Video over IP terminations, a real-time 4Kp60 10bit HEVC encoder, and a full capability Intel Core series processing host into a half rack-width, short depth enclosure. It allows users to capture and adapt live video at up to 4K/UHD resolution from SDI or HDMI feeds and then encode for streaming to content delivery or distribution networks by using the latest hardware HEVC compression technology. A software upgrade option can enable live Video over IP capture and playout, allowing users to support standards like SMPTE 2022-6, Sony IP Live Production System, and AIMS/VSF recommendations with the TICO mezzanine codec. Compressed video can be streamed over a redundant Gigabit Ethernet connection, or a USB connected wireless access dongle. The application development environment is the same Linux or Windows based SDK supported by the VEGA 3000 series PCI Express adapter range, allowing extra deployment scalability options.
    • VEGA-6000 SERIES

      4K/UHD television is now considered a mainstream consumer product and people are looking for appropriate content. Today, while content creators have been increasingly migrating to 4K cameras, the challenges to Broadcasters and TV stations are how to implement a scalable production environment to support UHD video content contribution and distribution requirements. In addition, OTT services company such as Netflix, Amazon, and LeTV (in China) are already distributing 4K video content to home, inspiring a new generation of online broadcasters sharing to social media networks like Youtube or Facebook video. These new model broadcasters are not tied down by an SDI-based legacy, so one challenge is how best to adapt existing processes to an IP future. But even new entrants face a bandwidth challenge in efficiently capturing and distributing high quality 4K/UHD content and this is where H.265/HEVC encoding helps with only half of the bandwidth requirement compared to equivalent quality video encoded by H.264. However, live HEVC encoding is a very strenuous processing task. To help video OEMs and integrators solve these threats in a low power, cost effective manner, Advantech have developed the VEGA-6000 series video appliances. VEGA-6000 series appliances are small, low power video processing engines featuring a range of interfaces and HEVC encoding features. They help users capture and adapt live video at up to 4K/UHD resolution from SDI feeds and then transfer to IP as well as to content delivery or distribution networks by using the latest hardware HEVC compression technology. With a short depth and low power consumption, the VEGA-6000 series are especially suitable for environments like medical operation rooms and outside broadcast studios.

They support video acquisition, real-time AVC or HEVC encoding, and compressed video streaming over 4G/LTE or Wi-Fi networks.     • VEGA-2000

      VEGA-2000 is a small form-factor video capture and streaming module supporting a single FullHD (up to 1080p60) video input from either SDI or HDMI, encoding live video using H.264 or HEVC, and streaming the result across either a wired network or via a USB wireless access dongle. The module also supports associated audio encoding and streaming. Its availability of HEVC compression offers a 50% reduction in transmission bit rates over existing AVC-based implementations, and the low power consumption of under 5W allows the module to be used in portable or mobile environments.
